Tour of Hong Kong

Saturday, March 24th

Today we took did a tour with our group. For those of you that are not privy to all of the information for our trip, there are 8 additional couples in our travel group. (2 families from New Philadelphia, OH and their links are located to the right - Alexa & Aleia, and Annie & Jack).

(Craig here) I am not sure when the first day of our trip ended and the next day began? That was one looooong day!!! But we made it here safe and sound. We also got to see a glimpse of Tokyo, Japan on our way. We only got to step on the ground in the airport...not outside, so I am not sure that counts as being there.

Our first day has gotten off to a great start... We all had breakfast then departed for our group sightseeing trip via bus. If you have never been to Hong Kong I can only say by tour bus it is a workout!!! The narrow winding roads going to see the various sights caused many to get a little motion sickness, but not too bad. Also, the offensive driving skills displayed by all drivers is somewhat unsettling after handling those busy streets of Tuscarawas County in Ohio.

We went to Victoria Peak which was very neat. However, the amount of seasonal fog somewhat took away the "wow" factor that is evident in the postcards. We then toured the Aberdeen fishing village, the jewelry factory (which means shopping), and the Stanley Market (more shopping). Following the sight seeing we had a group lunch featuring dim sum and other local foods. (pretty tasty)

Tonight we are talking about going to Ruth's Chris' steak house for one last hurrah before going to Nanchang, China for authentic China dining.

Tomorrow we are going to be able to pick up Kaitlin and that is truly going to be incredible!!!! Talk to all of you soon.

Love,

Traci and Craig (soon to be Kaitlin)
