We are off and running --well not quite yet but it won't be long!

Hi Guys,

Last night we went to the department store with Bob, Lisa and Alexa and then to eat at a KFC (How good did that taste? --I had popcorn chicken bites and french fries and a cold pop!(cold pop is very hard to find --in fact anything cold is very hard to find)

The taxi ride was horrific to say the least --I can't even explain it - but it's very dangerous! A couple of times we almost got pancaked by a bus, a cement truck coming straight for us, another bus, and a car, not the mention the numerous pedestrians and mopeds, cyclists we almost ran over. Lines and lights are just a suggestion around here. And the taxis are so tiny -- the size of a small cavalier or maybe even smaller and very old.

Another day of great strides. Kaitlin took her entire bottle from Craig (this is a 1st) she also waved hi to both of us! - So far she has had a great day --Happy Happy baby! She even got a kiss from Jack --(Although Jack's dad was trying to teach Jack how to slip her the tongue!) We will have to keep an eye on these two. Naps are becoming more regular now --Yeah! She takes about 1 1/2 hour nap in the morning and about 2 hour nap in the afternoon, then she sleeps from 8 until 7 pretty much straight through! She absolutley loves to take a bath and this afternoon after we returned from shopping she was just rolling around like crazy on the bed --she's starting to feel comfortable with us--finally!

We visited the countryside today - in a nutshell - VERY Poor. Mostly farmers live in the country to grow the rice, etc. The government provides them their land and housing, and they lease it from the government. Many houses only consist of concrete walls and floors with the only luxuries maybe being a washer and/or a television. Some have no heating or air conditioning, no carpet , no couch, no hot water, etc. YIKES!

Tomorrow, our last day in Nanchang, we are going to finish our paperwork and then go to the porcelain factory/shops. This province is well known for their porcelain, and specifically the city the girls orphanage was located. We would love to buy some as a momento. Today we bought just a few things --one more piece of luggage to get our souveniers back in and some hair bows. Haven't really seen any cute shoes just yet - maybe in Guangzhou.

We had lunch at McDonalds --and that tasted pretty good and I don't even like McDonalds. Tonight we are going to a restaurant that the most of the group got to go to on Monday but us b/c Miss Kaitlin wasn't doing so well the first full day and it is supposed to be very good--so we are looking forward to a good meal.

I'm going to try to go video tape the traffic patterns again --it's unbelievable!
